چکیده

Abstract Lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa are the most common infection among hospitalized patients, associated with increased levels of morbidity, mortality and attributable health care costs. Increased resistant worldwide has been quite meaningful to especially in intensive unit (ICUs). Different species exhibit different genetic profile varied drug resistance. The present study determines molecular epidemiology through DNA fingerprinting method resistance P. isolated from patients LTRIs admitted ICU. A total 79 LRTIs ICU were characterized Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP), Random Amplified Polymorphic (RAPD) Repetitive Extrapalindromic PCR (REP-PCR). Antibiotic was determined minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assay while MDR genes, viz, blaTEM, blaOXA, blaVIM, blaCTX-M-15 detected polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Of 137 sp 57.7% isolates reported be aeruginosa. overall prevalence all included 34.5%. RAPD analysis yielded 45 patterns 72 clusters 57% 100% similarity level. RFLP 8 14 76% REP 37 65 56% There no correlation observed between three methods. Predominant (46.8%) amikacin. isolates, 60.8% positive for blaTEM gene 39.2% blaOXA gene. predominantly difference level methods indicates that there is high inter-strain variability. variability we should continuously monitor trend antibiotic

Molecular epidemiology of colistin-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa producing NDM-1 from hospitalized patients in Iran

Objective(s): Resistance to carbapenems is the principal reason for the continuing utilization of colistin as a last resort choice for treating the infections resulted from multidrug carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) isolates. The assessment of antimicrobial resistance pattern, the prevalence of carbapenem-resistance determinants, and molecular epidemiology of colistin-resistan...

Evaluation of the effect of IDR-1018 antimicrobial peptide and chitosan nanoparticles on imipenem susceptible and resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from patients with urinary tract infections from ICU

Background and aim: Excessive use of antibiotics has significantly increased resistance to common antibiotics in the treatment of urinary tract infections. In the present study, antimicrobial efficacy of chitosan nanoparticles and peptide IDR-1018 was evaluated against P. aeruginosa isolates. Methods: In the present study, 20 resistant and 20 sensitive P. aeruginosa isolates to imipenem were ...

Antibiotic Susceptibility of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Isolated from Cystic Fibrosis Patients

Abstract Background and Objective: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive genetic disease and Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the most common bacteria colonized in CF patients. Growing resistance of this bacterium to antibiotics now a day is a challenge of controlling infection in CF patient. In this study colonization of CF patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and antibiotic suscep...

Antimicrobial susceptibility pattern of clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from patients of lower respiratory tract infections

The present study was conducted to determine the antibiotic susceptibility pattern of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from sputum samples of lower respiratory tract infection patients admitted to different hospitals of Karachi. Most of the hospitals are hampered with high frequency of nosocomial infections generally caused by multiresistant nosocomial pathogen. Among Gram-negative pathogens Pseudomonas ...

Drug Resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacter cloacae Isolated from ICU, Babol, Northern Iran

Multidrug resistant (MDR) bacteria are spread through the world which causes nosocomial infections, especially in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This study aimed to investigate resistance pattern of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacter cloacae isolated from patients in ICU. During 2011-2012, 30 isolates for each P. aeruginosa and E. cloacae were collected from patients who acquired nosocomial in...
